American dealers recently received a preview of the new Buick-badged Opel Cascada convertible, which is projected for U.S. release in late 2015 as a 2016 model. Auto News reports that “dealers were shown a drop-top version of the Opel Cascada at a business meeting in suburban Detroit in mid-August, according to two people who attended.” The convertible has a soft folding roof that “cascades” into the rear of the car seamlessly.
The two-door, four-seat car is basically identical to the standard European Opel. GM officials have not discussed the powertrain lineup that will be used on the car, but it is safe to assume it will be similar to that of the Opel. In Europe, the Cascada is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, a 1.6-liter turbo, or a 2.0-liter diesel.
The drop-top could be a nice addition to the Buick lineup. The car will essentially be a Buick version of the Opel Cascada, which went on sale in the first half of 2013 in Europe. Minor exterior changes will be made to give it a more traditional Buick appearance. Plan to get your new Buick from us at DeVoe Buick GMC!
Here at DeVoe Buick GMC, we’re always looking to make customers happy, and we like to think our customers leave the dealership satisfied. So, you can imagine how happy we were when a recent study found Buick customer satisfaction was on the rise.
Not only has Buick, along with Chevy, seen increases in consumer satisfaction in the last year, but those two brands are the only in the U.S. to see improvement, with the others either staying the same or decreasing.
The report from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) tracks and compares 21 brands of automobiles. The ACSI asks 4,360 consumers about their overall satisfaction and their experiences with their brand.
The report says, “A considerable investment in Buick appears to be paying off for General Motors. Sales are up 12.5 percent for the first half of the year – the largest increase for any GM car – led by a surge in sales for Buick Encore.”

2014 Buick Encore – Available now at DeVoe Buick GMC!
Drivers everywhere are choosing Buick for its affordable luxury. One of the most popular models is the 2014 Encore compact crossover. The Encore is perfect for those who like to sit high like in an SUV while maintaining great efficiency and enjoying the convenience of a smaller car. Motor Authority recently released an article stating that Buick may be introducing a new crossover!
The Buick Envision Crossover is set to be available sometime in 2015, but will start out in the Chinese market. Speculators show that the Envision Crossover will fit just between the Encore and Enclave. It is slightly bigger than the Encore, but not quite as big as the Enclave. Interior features include a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, panoramic sunroof, noise canceling system, and leather accentuated accents.
Buick suspected new crossover is powered by a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The Envision will have Buick’s FlexRide suspension system which will give drivers the ability to switch between four distinct driving modes.
Here at DeVoe we hope that the Envision will be available here in the U.S. soon, until then we will wait for its official unveiling on August 28th! Stay tuned…
2014 Buick Regal
While other automakers such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz may appear to be the best when it comes to luxury, Consumer Reports says that they have some stiff competition. Consumer Reports even went as far as saying, “the latest Buick Regal is about the equal of much more expensive [brands].”
Here at DeVoe Buick GMC, we couldn’t agree more that the 2014 Regal offers the power, performance, and luxury that you would expect from its German competitors. The all-new Regal is, however, able to offer everything at an affordable price which is what really sets it apart from the others.
Drivers everywhere are happy that Buick has decided to go back to its roots by offering sporty luxury. Buicks aren’t just your grandma’s grocery-getter anymore. When it comes to performance the Regal beat out the Volvo S60, tied the Mercedes-Benz C250, and came within a point of the class leader – the BMW 328i.

The Buick Riviera concept vehicle became the first Chinese automotive design to receive a major international award with the reception of the 2013 Red Dot Award in the “Design Concept” category. This concept, which debuted in April at the Auto Shanghai 2013, was the brainchild of a joint venture between GM’s Shanghai GM and Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC).
This innovative concept, which features gullwing doors and a curved, sleek body, showcases the direction of future Buick designs, specifically those of the mid-size luxury cars. The Riviera also features elements such as advanced propulsion and an infotainment system with a touchpad and an LCD.
According to PATAC Chief Designer and Advanced Design Director Cao Min, “In addition to signature Buick design cues, the Riviera design team drew inspiration from nature and traditional Chinese cultural elements. The latest intelligent vehicle technologies were integrated with avant-garde aesthetics and flexible functions, in line with Buick’s bold vision for the future.”
Buick’s newest Riviera concept, whose forerunner was the 2007 Buick Riviera concept also developed by PATAC, was one of 4,394 items entered from 56 countries in the running for the 2013 Red Dot Awards. It was judged based on innovation, ergonomics, functionality, eco-friendliness, and durability.
