GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition Debuts at Auto Show

Lately, General Motors has been churning out model after model of special- and limited-edition versions of the vehicles in its brands’ lineups. The latest to join the fray is the blacked-out GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition, which had its debuted at the recent New York International Auto Show. The compact SUV enjoys its fair share of popularity, and GMC sales officials are confident that the special edition will give buyers a new, unique option that helps the Terrain stand out in its segment.

The statement came from GMC Sales and Marketing vice president Duncan Aldred, who said, “The new Terrain Nightfall Edition adds another great-looking and well-equipped choice for this popular SUV—one that will stand out in a crowd.”

Differences between the standard GMC Terrain and the Nightfall Edition include the addition of a gloss-black paint job and accents, such as a charcoal front grille with gloss-black surround, front and rear fascia accents, and outside mirrors—plus luggage rails painted to match. Additionally, the 18-inch aluminum wheels come with gloss-black spokes. The result is a compact SUV that’s been given an edgy, all-black makeover.

The announcement at the Terrain Nightfall Edition debut in NY stated that the package will only be available as an option on two trim levels, the Terrain SLE-2 and SLT models. No details regarding the pricing have yet been unveiled, but as of right now, the standard SLE-2 starts at $30,000, while the SLT is $32,000.

Pricing will be announced closer to the Terrain Nightfall Edition’s release this fall, when it joins the ranks of other special editions such as the Canyon Nightfall and Sierra All Terrain X. Last year, the Terrain enjoyed record sales, becoming GMC’s second-highest-selling vehicle behind the Sierra pickup truck.
