More GMC Vehicles Getting Android Auto
Late last month, General Motors announced that a few more GMC vehicles will get Android Auto starting in March 2016. The 2016 GMC Canyon, Sierra, and Yukon models equipped with the eight-inch IntelliLink system will be able to get this upgrade at any GMC dealer, including here at DeVoe Buick GMC.
With Android Auto on the IntelliLink system, drivers will be able to access everything they love on their smartphones right on the vehicle’s touchscreen, including great apps like Google Maps, Google Now, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and so much more.
Apple users, don’t worry; Apple CarPlay was announced earlier this year and is available in the same GMC lineup.
“Providing Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility ushers in a new era of staying connected in a convenient manner,” said Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president, Buick and GMC, in a statement.
Many of the Android Auto features can be access through voice commands, letting you keep your hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road.
Going hand-in-hand with this in-car technology is the available of OnStar 4G LTE connectivity that turns your GMC into a Wi-Fi hotspot that allows up to seven devices to connect at once.
