The new Buick Encore has been getting a lot of attention lately for being one of the smallest SUV’s in a world of vehicles that just keep getting bigger and bigger. But now the Encore is making headlines for something totally different – it’s incredibly high marks in safety tests issued by the IIHS and NHTSA. According to a recent press release by Buick, “The 2013 Encore luxury small crossover joins all other current Buicks as an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety 2013 Top Safety Pick. The Encore with all-wheel drive also received a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score for safety from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.”
Not many other car makers can make that claim these days. However, Buick is very proud that all their vehicles keep meeting such high safety standards.
The Encore has 10 standard airbags, a rear vision camera, and features such as OnStar that help people when they need it most. Perhaps one of the coolest safety feature in the Encore is the new sensors that, in a rollover crash, are able to detect what’s going on and deploy head curtain airbags prior to impact. It’s innovations like that that keep Buick on top!

USA Today recently came out with an article about the new Buick Encore entitled “2013 Buick Encore shrink wraps the brand’s core values.” And the more we thought about this title, the more we realized how perfect it was. The Buick Encore is unlike any Buick vehicle in the past. Sure, it’s an SUV like the Enclave, but it’s much smaller. However, despite its differences in comparison to the rest of the Buick fleet, the Encore is still very much a Buick at its core. The exterior styling has Buick written all over it, and all the technology on the interior absolutely lives up to what everyone has come to expect from this luxury brand of cars and SUV’s.
The USA Today article goes on to say, “Buick wants to combine its core attributes into an entirely new, and much smaller, crossover design intended to appeal to younger clientele. The 2013 Buick Encore enters a SUV and crossover market brimming with worthy competition, such as the Mini Countryman, Honda CR-V, and VW Tiguan.”
So we would like to give a little challenge to you. We challenge you to go out and take those other small SUV’s out for a test drive, and then come to DeVoe Buick and take the Encore out for a test drive. We are that confident that when you put the Encore up against the competition, it’ll be obvious which one is the best.
Throughout the years, it seems things have just kept getting bigger. Average home sizes are increasing, enormous burgers are now readily available, and cars, especially SUV’s have only gotten bigger and bigger. But is bigger really better?
Not always. Introducing the 2013 Buick Encore. Buick has proved that great things can come in small packages. Check out the video below to see for yourself:
See? Even though the Encore is small in comparison to the tanks owning the roads these days, there’s still plenty of space for all the bells and whistles. Oh – and did we mention it gets a combined EPA-estimated fuel economy of 28 mpg? Come take one for a test drive at DeVoe Buick in Naples today!
A couple months ago we wrote a blog about how the Buick Encore would be delivered to our dealership here in Naples, Florida soon, and now, we are happy to announce that the Encore has officially been delivered! The engineers at Buick have really outdone themselves on this one. We’re still not sure how they packed so much luxury into a small SUV.
The Buick website says it very nicely, “You might not expect a 5-passenger crossover to be as finely crafted as a Swiss watch, as tech-savvy as your dream entertainment center and agile enough to maneuver through any narrow city street. But from now on you will. Introducing Encore. The luxury crossover with premium materials, ingenious design, flexible storage and purposeful technology. It’s like we knew exactly what you were missing in a crossover, and created the versatile Encore for you.”
We could talk all day about how amazing the new Encore looks and how it has so many innovative features, but you really just need to see it for yourself. Stop by DeVoe Buick GMC today to take the new 2013 Encore for a test drive!
The all new 2013 Buick Encore was built with some of the most cutting edge technology when it comes to safety and entertainment. Just take the Lane Departure Warning system for example. This is one feature we hope you’ll never have to use, but we’re positive you’ll be happy you have if you ever start drifting from your lane.
And as far as entertainment goes, the Encore lets you listen to your own personal Pandora stations using nothing more than the sound of your voice. How cool is that? Check out the video below for more information:

Last week in our blog we posted a video about the all new 2013 Buick Encore Luxury Crossover. This video, which can be seen if you scroll down to the next blog, featured the fine craftsmanship, luxurious details, and huge storage space in the Encore. But what it didn’t mention is the fuel efficiency of this new crossover.
Just yesterday, GM announced that the Encore, with an EPA-estimated 25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and a combined 28 mpg fuel economy, is the most fuel-efficient crossover from a domestic automaker. In other words, the Buick Encore comes in with a better combined fuel economy than the competition – the Ford Escape (combined 26 mpg) and the Jeep Compass (combined 25 mpg).
This really shouldn’t come as any surprise considering the Encore was designed from the start to be a market leader in fuel efficiency. For example, the Encore is designed to run on regular gasoline instead of premium fuel, unlike the Compass and Escape. In addition, Buick engineers developed the structure of the Encore is such a way that it would be both safer and lighter, and thus more fuel efficient.
Jim Danahy, the vehicle chief engineer, sums it up best. “Right from its inception, Encore was designed to offer customers the safety and comfort expected of any Buick, but with an added emphasis on space and fuel efficiency. We did things like specify one optimized wheel and tire package to ensure that every customer has the best driving experience possible.”
The stylish 2013 Buick Encore is changing the game when it comes to luxury crossover SUV’s. No longer are Buick’s just for your grandparents to get across town a few times a week. Featuring Intellilink and USB connectivity, these finely crafted pieces of machinery are on the cutting edge.
