Each year, Ward’s Auto chooses ten new and redesigned vehicles for its “10 Best Interiors” list, which honors the models with most innovative and impressive interiors based on a variety of criteria.
Ward’s Auto recently announced its choices for 2015, including the GMC Canyon SLT on the list. Additionally, the Canyon SLT was one of only two pick-up trucks that made the cut, right next to Ford’s latest F-150.
To be eligible for the list, a vehicle’s interior has to be entirely new, meaning there were about 40 vehicles available to choose from for this year’s list. The judges spent a careful 10 days with the cars, in order to make the right decision.
James M. Amend of Ward’s Auto cited “a good dose of technology and styling that strikes a unique balance between sophistication and good old-fashioned pickup ruggedness” as reasons for the Canyon’s selection, as well as its brand attributes.
The 2015 GMC Canyon has begun making its way into dealerships nationwide. Besides introducing a number of segment firsts and earning several “best-in-class” titles (including fuel economy), the GMC Canyon was designed to fit into any lifestyle; and, it offers a variety of accessories so that buyers can make their Canyon their own.
2015 GMC Canyon
“The Canyon is a lifestyle enabler, and accessories that support lifestyles of all types are an important of part of tailoring the truck to a customer’s exact needs,” remarked Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “Therefore, the accessories take their inspiration from how customers use their vehicle – and they are crafted by the same team of engineers that created the Canyon, for exceptional integration.”
One of the most exciting new features is GearOn™, a cutting edge cargo management system, which is described by the USPTSO as a “truck bed cargo system comprised of tiered storage cross rails, utility rack stanchions, cargo dividers, and cargo tie down rings.”
For the exterior of the 2015 GMC Canyon, the following accessories are available:
Grilles and grille inserts
Molded hood protector and splash guards
Rocker steps (off-road-style)
Tubular assist steps
The interior can be enhanced with:
All-weather floor mats
Heated cloth seats
Carpeted floor mats
Trailering accessories include:

Finally, the pickup box offers a number of exciting accessories:
With the release of the 2015 GMC Canyon, as well as its sister vehicle, the Chevrolet Colorado, GM is working hard to make the midsize truck segment relevant again. As you know, loyal DeVoe Buick GMC customers, the pickup truck is eternally popular, but it can also be very expensive to own, especially because of high gas prices. However, midsize trucks like the Canyon give you the capability you demand from a truck without all those high fuel prices.
2015 GMC Canyon
“The all-new Canyon is the segment’s first premium midsize truck, delivering class-leading capabilities with the brand’s signature refinement,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “It’s an efficiently sized, maneuverable package for customers who want the cargo-hauling and trailering versatility of a truck without the size of a full-size pickup.”
Come see us at DeVoe to learn more about the Canyon, to ask us about its powertrain configurations, trims, standard and available features, and much, much more. We think you’ll soon be convinced that the Canyon doesn’t just compete in its segment; it already owns its segment.
The 2015 GMC Canyon is just another example of the old adage that good things come in small packages. The Canyon has the ability to give you full-size capabilities in a compact size. It stems from its 3.6-liter V6 engine which is able to produce up to 302-horsepower. Drivers can also opt for the smaller four-cylinder engine that makes 193-horsepower. No matter which engine you choose, you will surely love its capabilities.
The Canyon has a 41-ft. turning radius which makes it easier to maneuver and operate especially in crowded parking lots and busy city streets. Drivers also enjoy the fact that the Canyon will fit effortlessly in their garage. Measuring in at just over 212-inches for the crew cab configuration, the Canyon will park easily at almost any location.
The Canyon will be coming to our dealership this fall, be sure to come see how it will easily fit into your lifestyle at DeVoe Buick GMC!
As America demands more efficient vehicles, GMC has stepped up its game in its small pick-up, the Canyon. Safety does not have to be sacrificed in order to have smaller, more efficient trucks – and GMC hits the mark with their new technology that allows child seats to be installed in the rear space-saving seats.
Awkward under-sized jump seats have been found in the back seat of trucks for years. Barely big enough for a small child, the seats could never safely support a child seat or car seat. GMC, with recommendations from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, has come up with an incredibly simple solution: the back seat’s headrests can be removed and inserted into the leading edge of the bottom of the seat, effectively making the seat wider and able to support a child seat.
With safety a major priority for families, the previous Canyons were not ideal for anyone with children who require a child seat, alienating young families altogether. The newest Canyon is perfect for a small family, combining safety, comfort, utility, and efficiency into one compact truck.

Remember the GMC Canyon? GMC’s mid-size truck that was discontinued last year? Well it’s coming back with a vengeance!
Earlier this month GM vice president Dan Ammann teased us with a little look of what the truck will look like (see below). From the picture, it looks like the new Canyon is following in its big brother’s footsteps as far as exterior design goes. And according to recent press release by GMC, the Canyon is designed to be a “capable, versatile and fuel-efficient alternatives to full-size pickups.” Production is scheduled to start sometime next year.
All of us here at DeVoe Buick GMC are so excited for the official reveal of this truck! The new Canyon will be a great option for anyone looking to get a fuel-efficient, hard-working mid-size truck. Keep checking our blog in the coming weeks for more details!
