If you have been considering buying a convertible, you know that there are a lot of variables. Do you want a hard top or a fabric top? Do you want a luxury convertible or an affordable drop top? Do you want a two-seat roadster? Manual or automatic?

It is important to consider these variables as well as factors such as the price, fuel economy, safety features, technology, passenger capacity, interior space, and cargo space.

If you have been interested in purchasing a convertible but do not know where to start, Buick just created the convertible you have been waiting for.

The all new 2016 Buick Cascada is a fantastic convertible, and is the perfect blend of everything a convertible should have. It is a competitively priced vehicle, with dashing good looks, and a comfortable drive.

Rain Is No Match for the All-New Buick Cascada

Buick Cascada

The thought of a convertible and rain together doesn’t sound to appealing, does it? We would say “no,” but we’re here to talk about the all-new Buick Cascada and although it is a convertible, rain is no match for it at all.

In fact, the Cascada undergoes quite the process to ensure the inclement weather will not affect it. Special water testing booths are set up along the assembly line of the Cascada and 124 individual water nozzles begin to replicate a downpour, making sure all the seals are tight and no leaks are possible.

In a recent press release, John Dolch, program quality manager for the Cascasda said, “Convertibles are best enjoyed when it’s warm and sunny but Cascada has been designed and engineered to be used year-round, regardless of the weather.”

The all-new Buick Cascada will be available early next year, so be sure to visit DeVoe Buick GMC to check it out!

Buick Cascada Debut Happening in Detroit

Buick Cascada debutWe’ve long been hearing rumors about a new convertible, possibly called the Cascada, coming to the Buick lineup. Now, word is the Buick Cascada debut is happening at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this week.

Besides the fact that the new convertible has been on its way, we haven’t known much about it, even its official name. Cascada is what the car is called in Europe under the Opel name, but Buick could very well have given it a new name for its US sales. It is expected to maintain much of the same styling of its European cousin—and  we at DeVoe Buick GMC won’t mind that at all.

If you’re making the trek to Detroit for the show, keep in mind the Buick display will be in a new location this year. Instead of sticking with its General Motors counterparts, Buick is cozying up to its luxury rivals like Infiniti and Acura. If you see the new convertible, tell us what you think about it in the comments below.

What do you hope to see or learn from the highly-anticipated Buick Cascada debut?

Reaching American Soil: Buick Drop-top to Resemble Opal Cascada

American dealers recently received a preview of the new Buick-badged Opel Cascada convertible, which is projected for U.S. release in late 2015 as a 2016 model. Auto News reports that “dealers were shown a drop-top version of the Opel Cascada at a business meeting in suburban Detroit in mid-August, according to two people who attended.” The convertible has a soft folding roof that “cascades” into the rear of the car seamlessly.

The two-door, four-seat car is basically identical to the standard European Opel. GM officials have not discussed the powertrain lineup that will be used on the car, but it is safe to assume it will be similar to that of the Opel. In Europe, the Cascada is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, a 1.6-liter turbo, or a 2.0-liter diesel.

The drop-top could be a nice addition to the Buick lineup. The car will essentially be a Buick version of the Opel Cascada, which went on sale in the first half of 2013 in Europe. Minor exterior changes will be made to give it a more traditional Buick appearance. Plan to get your new Buick from us at DeVoe Buick GMC!
