When plans for the 2015 GMC Canyon were first announced, everyone jumped to conclusions about how much power it would have. However, it wasn’t until earlier this month that we know for sure how much power is going to be under the hood.
According to Autoblog:
“Extended Cab models of both trucks come standard with a 2.5-liter, direct-injected four-cylinder rated at 200 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. That’s a bit more than the 193 hp and 184 lb-ft originally reported for the duo. The standard transmission for the extended trucks is a six-speed manual, but the Work Truck trim is also available with an optional six-speed automatic. Towing for the four-cylinder is rated at 3,500 pounds.”
The 2015 GMC Canyon will be a force to be reckoned with – and don’t you forget it! Keep checking our blog and Facebook page for more updates about this beast of a truck.

Buick took home three Kelley Blue Book 2014 5-Year Cost to Own awards last week, demonstration lower-than-average ownership cost than similar vehicles on the market.
The list was compiled using Kelley Blue Book® Residual Values, a sophisticated valuation methodology that draws from critical financial data from third-party providers. The goal is to calculate depreciation costs, expected fuel costs, finance and insurance fees, maintenance and repair costs, and state registration fees—helping KBB’s readers to garner a good understanding of which cars are most likely to give them the most bang for their buck.
This year, the Buick Verano, Encore, and Enclave were undoubtedly those that delivered the biggest bang for their customers’ buck, coming out ahead in the entry-level luxury, luxury compact SUV/crossover, and luxury full-size SUV/crossover categories, respectively.
“Buick puts the customer first, not only offering a great portfolio of vehicles, but maintaining quality and dependability long after the vehicle is purchased,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing.
Come find all three Buick vehicles at DeVoe Buick GMC!
The Buick Encore was just one of the recipients of the KBB 5-Year Cost to Own Awards.

The numbers are in and we are so happy to announce that, thanks to all our amazing customers, we were able to raise $10,000 for Bosom Buddies during Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
If you didn’t already know, Bosom Buddies is a local organization that helps women fight breast cancer a couple different ways. First, they assist families who simply cannot afford proper treatment for breast cancer. But Bosom Buddies also holds educational clinics and support groups that help women during this trying time in their life.
According to Joetta Abbazio, the President of Bosom Buddies, “We service men and women in Collier County and Bonita Springs and we help them with the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. All the money that we raise stays here,” Abbazio said at the check-awarding ceremony. “We also run a support group that meets twice a month in the evenings; we council over the phone as well.”
The bottom line is Bosom Buddies is an incredible organization and it was our pleasure to present them with this money. If you’re interested in learning more about Bosom Buddies, feel free to check out their website!
Thanks to our amazing customers, we were pleased to present this check to Bosom Buddies after partnering with them for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Well today is the first day of November. Do you know what that means? It means Breast Cancer Awareness month is officially over, and thus, so is the special we were running during October where we made a donation to Bosom Buddies for every car sold, leased or serviced.
And we just want to say, thank you so so very much to everyone who came in last month to show their support! Whether you purchased a new car or got an oil change, you helped make a difference in someones life who is dealing with something very difficult.
But just because Breast Cancer Awareness month is over doesn’t mean we can just forget about it until next October! Bosom Buddies is just an awesome local non-profit that could always use some help in the form of financial assistance or volunteers. If you feel like that may be something you’re interested in doing, please feel free to visit the Bosom Buddies website or give them a call at 239-417-4600.
Just because our local trees don’t turn into a rainbow of colors in the autumn, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy this beautiful season. Autumn brings cooler temperatures and less humidity making outdoor activities increasingly pleasant. It is the perfect time of years for festivals and fall festivities are in no short supply in southern Florida.
October is just around the corner and the month is filled with fun. Here are a handful of festivals and activities we recommend taking of advantage of this year.
Movies on the Lawn at Mercato – This family-friendly event will show the movie Hotel Transylvania. It is free, so bring a blanket or some chairs and relax under the stars. The show starts October 15 at 7:30 PM and is located across from The Pub in Naples.
Stone Crab Festival – This festival held October 25-27 is on the historical Old Naples Waterfront. It features live music, art, vendors, family activities, and, of course, locally harvested stone crab claws, fish, and other shellfish. The event is free and open to the public.
American Musical Heritage Lectures: Fall Series – If music history is your passion, attend this series of lectures beginning at the end of October. The series will present topics relating to music history and choreography. Call 239-597-0670 for details.
Swamp Buggy Races – The Budweiser Fall Classic Swamp Buggy Races is a thrilling event. You’re sure to get a little dirty as this is known as the world’s muddiest races. This year, this event will be held November 2-3 at the Florida Sports Park.
Have a favorite local fall event you love to attend? Give us the details in the comments below.
