Dirt and grime can play an insidious role in
the wear-and-tear that comes with owning an aging vehicle. Dead bugs and bird
droppings can even be acidic enough to wear off your vehicle’s paint job! It’s
easier to prevent paint from wearing away than to get it touched up, so getting
regular washes to preserve the look of your car helps in the long run.
Paint jobs are purely cosmetic, but rust
isn’t, and salt build-up can actually corrode the metal in a vehicle and cause
rust. Since we’re located in Florida, we aren’t exposed to road salt used to
prevent snow storms as often, but we do live in a damp and salty climate due to
the ocean! Make sure to wash your car to stave off salt build-up.
When you regularly wash your car to keep the
paint in good condition and minimize rust and corrosion, the resale value of
your vehicle goes up in the long term. If you’re planning on trading in your
car eventually, investing in regular washes and detailings.
If you want to get your vehicle professionally detailed and looking good, stop into DeVoe Buick GMC and we’ll get you squared away.

Perhaps the most exciting upgrade is the addition of the
2020 GMC Acadia AT4, which pairs the 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 with

exclusive 17-inch wheels (or optional 20-inch wheels) wrapped in all-terrain

When you live in Florida and feel the urge to hit the beach, there’s really only one problem: which one to choose. The Sunshine State features the finest coastlines in the US. Here’s a list of the top five best beaches in Florida.
# 5 – Destin – A number of features make Destin one of the most attractive beaches in the state. There’s the pure white sand, its affordability and its constant sunshine.
# 4 – Sanibel Island – Off the coast of Fort Myers is Sanibel Island. This is where you can go when you want to avoid Spring Breakers and enjoy some quality quiet time with the family.
# 3 – Key West – Part of the fun of Key West is getting there, as you get to drive the phenomenally scenic Overseas Highway. Once you’re down there, the party never stops.
# 2 – St. Petersburg – They don’t call St. Petersburg the Sunshine City for nothing. The town bears the distinction of holding the Florida record for most consecutive days of sunshine.
# 1 – Naples – Some might argue that the best part of Naples has nothing to do with sand. They might be right, but that’s a hard argument—the beaches here are not only open to the public, they are simply gorgeous. Naples offers the all-around treatment with great restaurants, interesting attractions and superb golf courses.
Speaking of attractions in Naples, stop by DeVoe Buick GMC today and get behind the wheel of a new Buick!
There’s nothing quite like the throaty hum of a finely-tuned engine. It’s something we can get used to over time and that’s why when it suddenly changes, it can be disconcerting to say the least. So, what changed? Here’s a short list of what different car noises could indicate.
If your vehicle squeals when you apply the brakes, it could be telling you that you need new brakes pads. Have your vehicle inspected soon, because once pads wear out completely your rotors could be damaged.
A loose exhaust system can cause rattling that appears to be coming from underneath your vehicle. You could even take a peek under there to check it out. But, it’s probably better to seek the service of a professional.
There are a number of kinds of grinding sounds an unhealthy vehicle can make. A light grinding sound could mean that your brake pads have been rubbed down to nothing.
If you drive a manual transmission, grinding during shifting could indicate a variety of issues. It could be a dragging clutch or a failing synchronizer. These are problems that normally arise as your vehicle reaches high mileage.
If your troubles are stacking up and you think the solution may be a new vehicle, stop in at DeVoe Buick GMC to explore our excellent lineup!
While most people think of winter as one of the most dangerous times of the year for vehicles, the summer season has its drawbacks as well. Stay safe this year with these summer car care tips from DeVoe Buick GMC:
Keep your car on a regular maintenance schedule. If you haven’t been to the auto repair shop for a tune-up lately, the time is now.
Make sure that your tires are appropriately inflated and have enough tread.
Take a good look at your windshield wipers. They can really take a beating in the snow, and you’ll want them at their best when it rains this year.
Change the air filter. Now that it’s warm, you’re going to want clean, fresh air blasting through the air conditioner.
Double-check that your air conditioning is working properly. If it’s only able to drop the temperature inside by about five degrees, you probably wouldn’t have noticed the problem all winter long.

2014 Buick Encore – Available now at DeVoe Buick GMC!
Drivers everywhere are choosing Buick for its affordable luxury. One of the most popular models is the 2014 Encore compact crossover. The Encore is perfect for those who like to sit high like in an SUV while maintaining great efficiency and enjoying the convenience of a smaller car. Motor Authority recently released an article stating that Buick may be introducing a new crossover!
The Buick Envision Crossover is set to be available sometime in 2015, but will start out in the Chinese market. Speculators show that the Envision Crossover will fit just between the Encore and Enclave. It is slightly bigger than the Encore, but not quite as big as the Enclave. Interior features include a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, panoramic sunroof, noise canceling system, and leather accentuated accents.
Buick suspected new crossover is powered by a 2.0-liter four cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The Envision will have Buick’s FlexRide suspension system which will give drivers the ability to switch between four distinct driving modes.
Here at DeVoe we hope that the Envision will be available here in the U.S. soon, until then we will wait for its official unveiling on August 28th! Stay tuned…
We love it when car reviewers from big organizations get behind the wheel of cars we sell to see what they think. Most of the time we see nothing but glowing reviews! And a glowing review is exactly what we got from the New York Times earlier this month on the 2014 Buick Regal.
Mr. Tom Voelk had this to say about the new and improved Regal after his extended test drive:
“The Regal’s handsome lines and capable sport sedan moves are what interest (my son). The car — sold in Europe as the Opel Insignia — is also quiet, comfortable and, at $38,270 as tested, stuffed with technology that was science fiction in the ‘60s.”
So it’s loaded with technology, looks cool, is quiet and comfortable, and is appealing to a wide range of age groups? Awesome!
whether you are looking for a nice luxury car as you start your career, or you’re just getting settled into retirement, the 2014 Buick Regal deserves a good hard look. Come take one for a test drive of your own at DeVoe Buick GMC in Naples today!
