Dirt and grime can play an insidious role in
the wear-and-tear that comes with owning an aging vehicle. Dead bugs and bird
droppings can even be acidic enough to wear off your vehicle’s paint job! It’s
easier to prevent paint from wearing away than to get it touched up, so getting
regular washes to preserve the look of your car helps in the long run.
Paint jobs are purely cosmetic, but rust
isn’t, and salt build-up can actually corrode the metal in a vehicle and cause
rust. Since we’re located in Florida, we aren’t exposed to road salt used to
prevent snow storms as often, but we do live in a damp and salty climate due to
the ocean! Make sure to wash your car to stave off salt build-up.
When you regularly wash your car to keep the
paint in good condition and minimize rust and corrosion, the resale value of
your vehicle goes up in the long term. If you’re planning on trading in your
car eventually, investing in regular washes and detailings.
If you want to get your vehicle professionally detailed and looking good, stop into DeVoe Buick GMC and we’ll get you squared away.
As America demands more efficient vehicles, GMC has stepped up its game in its small pick-up, the Canyon. Safety does not have to be sacrificed in order to have smaller, more efficient trucks – and GMC hits the mark with their new technology that allows child seats to be installed in the rear space-saving seats.
Awkward under-sized jump seats have been found in the back seat of trucks for years. Barely big enough for a small child, the seats could never safely support a child seat or car seat. GMC, with recommendations from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, has come up with an incredibly simple solution: the back seat’s headrests can be removed and inserted into the leading edge of the bottom of the seat, effectively making the seat wider and able to support a child seat.
With safety a major priority for families, the previous Canyons were not ideal for anyone with children who require a child seat, alienating young families altogether. The newest Canyon is perfect for a small family, combining safety, comfort, utility, and efficiency into one compact truck.
Stop by DeVoe Buick GMC to check out the GMC Canyon along with the rest of our selection of family-friendly and efficient vehicles!
This seems like common sense to us here at DeVoe Buick GMC, but the University of Michigan’s Transportation Research Institute went ahead and “proved” it anyhow: vehicles that feature rearview backup cameras make people safer. These backup cameras help to reduce the risk of “backing crashes,” protecting drivers and passengers alike in vehicles equipped with these cameras.
Buick has taken this knowledge to heart, making rearview cameras—traditionally just a convenient option—a standard feature on all new 2015 Buick models. “Rear backup cameras have become like power windows and air conditioning,” Karl Brauer, senior analyst for Kelley Blue Book, said. “While they’re not standard on every car, yet, it’s rare to operate a new vehicle without them. The increased confidence these cameras provide make them a must-have feature.”
Go back and pay close attention to the word “yet” in Brauer’s quote. Buick has removed that “yet” from their brand, proving the brand to be one of the most progressive brands in the auto industry, luxury or otherwise.

Buick has announced a brand new, Ultra Luxurious Package for the 2014 LaCrosse, which introduces a new level of luxury rarely seen in entry-level premium vehicles.
It offers a color palette commonly seen in luxury goods—sangria and ebony—that no other competing sedan currently offers. The interior front and rear seating feature rich, soft semi-aniline leather upholstery dyed in deep sangria color, accentuated by the ebony-colored sueded headliner and door pillars.
Another luxury feature is the authentic Shadow Tamo Ash wood trim on the doors, dash, and center console. Tamo Ash is a unique high-grade species often used in musical instruments. Its biggest appeal is the movement and contrast in its dark veins that vary widely between samples, which means that no two Ultra Luxury Interiors are alike.
“From the grade, pattern, texture and color of the leather to the layering of natural wood, metal and stitching, this interior moves beyond convention,” said Ven Lai, Buick lead creative designer for color and trim. “This application is tailored specifically to the LaCrosse and its customers, but we’re exploring all avenues for where it could take Buick.”

We’ve been in the car business for quite some time here at DeVoe Auto and learned a few things along the way. Things about what customers want or need in a car and how they prioritize those needs. See, an SUV could have every single luxury feature, look amazing and get great gas mileage; but without safety features, what’s the point of all those other things?
Thank goodness for SUVs like the 2015 GMC Yukon XL Denali that don’t skimp on features, whether they be luxury features or safety features.
In part one of this series we focuses on safety features in the front of the 2015 Yukon like Forward Collision Alert. Well today we want to focus on the features on the side. These side-facing features include:
Side-blind zone alert
Lane Change Alert
Land Departure Warning
Each one of these safety features does exactly what it sounds like. Check out the video below for a more in-depth look at each feature:
Basically, the sensors on the 2015 GMC Yukon XL Denali act as another pair of eyes that can see where you can’t. Stop by DeVoe Auto today to see one for yourself!
We just want to start off by saying that the 2015 GMC Yukon XL Denali is big. Real big. And some people might think that just because the Yukon XL is big, and thus a lot safer than small cars out there, that GMC did not feel the need to include cutting edge safety features in the truck.
Well were here to say that that could not be further from the truth! The Yukon XL is loaded with awesome safety features that will give drivers and passengers alike a sense of security and peace of mind.
In fact, the new 2015 Yukon has so many great safety features, we wanted to do a few blogs on them! So stay tuned and keep checking our blog in the coming months for more updates.
Today we want to focus on the safety features in the front of the car. Whether your cruising down the highway at 80 mph, or just slowly pulling into your garage, the sensors on the Yukon have your back. So for example, if you’re on cruise control (or not on cruise control) and you are approaching the car in front of you a little too fast, the Yukon will warn you to slow down.
Likewise, if you are slowly pulling into a parking space or a garage, the Yukon will use audible tones to let you know when you’re about to hit something.
Check out the video below to get a better idea of how these features work.
According to a recent J.D. Power study, Buick is the highest ranked mass-market brand when it comes to dealer service satisfaction! All of us at DeVoe Buick GMC are absolutely thrilled about this recognition and are glad to see people are noticing that Buick has, and always will, put customers first.
Now we understand that that study may be a little confusing, so let us do our best at explaining it to you. According to a Buick press release, “Surveying service satisfaction among owners and lessees of one- to five-year-old vehicles in the United States, the CSI focuses on five service areas. Weighted the most is service quality, followed by service initiation, service advisor, service facility and vehicle pick-up. Buick ranked highest among 19 mass-market brands.”
In other words, Buick is the best at keeping service customers happy, from the moment they walk into the dealership, to the moment they drive away in their recently serviced car.
It doesn’t matter if you own a Buick or not, our service center here at DeVoe Buick GMC is always here for all your auto needs, Whether you need a simple oil change, or something a little more major, we can help! Visit our website to learn more about the services we offer.
