When you think about the stereotypical family vehicle, you probably think about a minivan, SUV, or even just a regular sedan. But, did you know that the 2015 GMC Canyon is made for families?

Recently, Cars.com writer Carrie Kim was able to test drive the Canyon and was delightfully surprised by how family-friendly it really was. In her review, she wrote, “[the Canyon] offers all the luxuries and upgrades I’m usually looking for in a crossover, but still provides all of a pickup’s utility without any sacrifices. Its manageable size and all the bells and whistles could really appeal to many families—including my own.”

She noted there is plenty of room in the second row of the crew cab model to fit two forward-facing child seats. And, the Canyon uses a simple solution to make sure those seats fit in the way they should. Simply take out the headrest and slide it into the bottom seat cushion to make it a little longer to better accommodate your child’s seat.

Kim also said that for the first time, she and her husband started dreaming about all the fun trips they could take with the Canyon’s cargo and towing capabilities—up to 7,000 pounds when equipped with the towing package and V6 engine.

The GMC Canyon is Making a Comeback

Remember the GMC Canyon? GMC’s mid-size truck that was discontinued last year? Well it’s coming back with a vengeance!

Earlier this month GM vice president Dan Ammann teased us with a little look of what the truck will look like (see below). From the picture, it looks like the new Canyon is following in its big brother’s footsteps as far as exterior design goes.  And according to recent press release by GMC, the Canyon is designed to be a “capable, versatile and fuel-efficient alternatives to full-size pickups.” Production is scheduled to start sometime next year.

All of us here at DeVoe Buick GMC are so excited for the official reveal of this truck! The new Canyon will be a great option for anyone looking to get a fuel-efficient, hard-working mid-size truck. Keep checking our blog in the coming weeks for more details!
