Why You Should Wash Your Car Regularly

why you should wash your car

Did you know that it’s recommended that you wash your car every two weeks? What about waxing and detailing your vehicle twice a year? While this can seem like a bit much, there are good reasons why vehicle owners should be investing in regular car washes.

Keep in Good Condition

Dirt and grime can play an insidious role in the wear-and-tear that comes with owning an aging vehicle. Dead bugs and bird droppings can even be acidic enough to wear off your vehicle’s paint job! It’s easier to prevent paint from wearing away than to get it touched up, so getting regular washes to preserve the look of your car helps in the long run.

Less Rust

Paint jobs are purely cosmetic, but rust isn’t, and salt build-up can actually corrode the metal in a vehicle and cause rust. Since we’re located in Florida, we aren’t exposed to road salt used to prevent snow storms as often, but we do live in a damp and salty climate due to the ocean! Make sure to wash your car to stave off salt build-up.

High Resale Value

When you regularly wash your car to keep the paint in good condition and minimize rust and corrosion, the resale value of your vehicle goes up in the long term. If you’re planning on trading in your car eventually, investing in regular washes and detailings.

“The 2020 Acadia is stylish, functional and capable with more of the smart convenience and connectivity features that customers rely on every day,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global GMC. “And with GMC’s signature refinement at its core, the new Acadia advances the brand’s commitment to offering premium vehicles for discerning crossover customers.”

The refreshed GMC Acadia will feature a new 2.0-liter Turbo engine standard for the SLT and Denali. This engine boasts a tripower valvetrain and dual-scroll technology to deliver optimal performance and efficiency. The venerable 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder and 3.6-liter V6 will both return to the lineup, and all three engines are now standard with a new nine-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift control.

Perhaps the most exciting upgrade is the addition of the 2020 GMC Acadia AT4, which pairs the 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 with twin-clutch all-wheel drive. Primed for off-road adventure, the AT4 gets exclusive 17-inch wheels (or optional 20-inch wheels) wrapped in all-terrain tires.

And with a new, sharper face including standard LED lighting and C-shaped signature lighting, the redesigned 2020 GMC Acadia will have no trouble standing out from the crowd. Look for the new Acadia at DeVoe Buick GMC later this year.
