While most people think of winter as one of the most dangerous times of the year for vehicles, the summer season has its drawbacks as well. Stay safe this year with these summer car care tips from DeVoe Buick GMC:
Keep your car on a regular maintenance schedule. If you haven’t been to the auto repair shop for a tune-up lately, the time is now.
Make sure that your tires are appropriately inflated and have enough tread.
Take a good look at your windshield wipers. They can really take a beating in the snow, and you’ll want them at their best when it rains this year.
Change the air filter. Now that it’s warm, you’re going to want clean, fresh air blasting through the air conditioner.
Double-check that your air conditioning is working properly. If it’s only able to drop the temperature inside by about five degrees, you probably wouldn’t have noticed the problem all winter long.
Do you have any other summer car care tips to keep in mind? Let us know your ideas in the comments.

We love it when car reviewers from big organizations get behind the wheel of cars we sell to see what they think. Most of the time we see nothing but glowing reviews! And a glowing review is exactly what we got from the New York Times earlier this month on the 2014 Buick Regal.
Mr. Tom Voelk had this to say about the new and improved Regal after his extended test drive:
“The Regal’s handsome lines and capable sport sedan moves are what interest (my son). The car — sold in Europe as the Opel Insignia — is also quiet, comfortable and, at $38,270 as tested, stuffed with technology that was science fiction in the ‘60s.”
So it’s loaded with technology, looks cool, is quiet and comfortable, and is appealing to a wide range of age groups? Awesome!
whether you are looking for a nice luxury car as you start your career, or you’re just getting settled into retirement, the 2014 Buick Regal deserves a good hard look. Come take one for a test drive of your own at DeVoe Buick GMC in Naples today!
When plans for the 2015 GMC Canyon were first announced, everyone jumped to conclusions about how much power it would have. However, it wasn’t until earlier this month that we know for sure how much power is going to be under the hood.
“Extended Cab models of both trucks come standard with a 2.5-liter, direct-injected four-cylinder rated at 200 horsepower at 6,300 rpm and 191 pound-feet of torque at 4,400 rpm. That’s a bit more than the 193 hp and 184 lb-ft originally reported for the duo. The standard transmission for the extended trucks is a six-speed manual, but the Work Truck trim is also available with an optional six-speed automatic. Towing for the four-cylinder is rated at 3,500 pounds.”
The 2015 GMC Canyon will be a force to be reckoned with – and don’t you forget it! Keep checking our blog and Facebook page for more updates about this beast of a truck.
DeVoe Automotive loves helping the local community. And one of the ways we get to do that every year is through the DeVoe Scholarship Trust! See, college is very expensive these days and not everyone can afford to continue their education after high school to pursue the career they’ve always wanted.
That’s why we’ve Richard DeVoe started the DeVoe Scholarship Trust – to help local kids get through college.
So this year we have ten scholarship recipients that will each receive $12,000 to financially assist with their college education! See below for the list of recipients:
Alexa Boyd – Barron Collier
Elizabeth Hernandez – Lorenzo Walker
Anita Munoz Trejo – Immokalee
Chandler Whitehead – Gulf Coast
Kaitlyn Huaroto – Gulf Coast
Jeffrey Flores – Immokalee
Caitlin Early – Golden Gate
Kara Dudley – Naples
Santiago Ospina – Lely
Shelby Sorrell – Palmetto Ridge
Congratulations, all of you! We wish you nothing but the best as you head off to school. Study hard an remember that hard work pays off.
DeVoe would not be around today if weren’t for the all the incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and committed people that come in to work here every single day. Whether you’re talking about sales, service, finance or parts, we really do have the best employees around! It’s only because of them that we’ve been around for so long. That’s why we like to have a day every year where we can show all the employees how much we appreciate them.
Employee Appreciation Day was just last week here at DeVoe Buick GMC. Employees were treated to a nice BBQ lunch and entertainment from Cool Runnings. It was a ton of fun! Check out the pictures below:
As America demands more efficient vehicles, GMC has stepped up its game in its small pick-up, the Canyon. Safety does not have to be sacrificed in order to have smaller, more efficient trucks – and GMC hits the mark with their new technology that allows child seats to be installed in the rear space-saving seats.
Awkward under-sized jump seats have been found in the back seat of trucks for years. Barely big enough for a small child, the seats could never safely support a child seat or car seat. GMC, with recommendations from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, has come up with an incredibly simple solution: the back seat’s headrests can be removed and inserted into the leading edge of the bottom of the seat, effectively making the seat wider and able to support a child seat.
With safety a major priority for families, the previous Canyons were not ideal for anyone with children who require a child seat, alienating young families altogether. The newest Canyon is perfect for a small family, combining safety, comfort, utility, and efficiency into one compact truck.
Stop by DeVoe Buick GMC to check out the GMC Canyon along with the rest of our selection of family-friendly and efficient vehicles!
This seems like common sense to us here at DeVoe Buick GMC, but the University of Michigan’s Transportation Research Institute went ahead and “proved” it anyhow: vehicles that feature rearview backup cameras make people safer. These backup cameras help to reduce the risk of “backing crashes,” protecting drivers and passengers alike in vehicles equipped with these cameras.
Buick has taken this knowledge to heart, making rearview cameras—traditionally just a convenient option—a standard feature on all new 2015 Buick models. “Rear backup cameras have become like power windows and air conditioning,” Karl Brauer, senior analyst for Kelley Blue Book, said. “While they’re not standard on every car, yet, it’s rare to operate a new vehicle without them. The increased confidence these cameras provide make them a must-have feature.”
Go back and pay close attention to the word “yet” in Brauer’s quote. Buick has removed that “yet” from their brand, proving the brand to be one of the most progressive brands in the auto industry, luxury or otherwise.
