New 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Features

The 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 is here at last, and the new model comes with quite a new few features. From personal customization options, like paint color, to features that are commonly requested by drivers, this full-size pickup is designed to give customers more for their money. While GMC has added quite a few new features, the automaker has also removed some as well.

The 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 loses the Light Steel Gray Metallic, Iridium Metallic, and Mahogany Metallic colors. As a replacement, the full-size pickup sees the addition of Dark Slate Metallic and Pepperdust Metallic.

As for highly-requested GMC Sierra 1500 features, the truck sees the addition of capless fuel fill and Teen Driver mode with IntelliLink infotainment system to the list of standard features. Low Speed Mitigation Braking also makes its way onto the list. Tri-Mode Power Steps, 18-inch all-season blackwall tires, and a trailer brake controller (SLT Crew Cab Premium Plus Package) all join the list of available options.

We aren’t the only ones saying the 2015 GMC Sierra HD is a good option for anyone looking for a large heavy duty pickup. Owners of the model agreed, placing the pickup at the top of its class in the 2015 J.D. Power APEAL Study.

The J.D. Power U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study scores many vehicles based on feedback from consumers after 90 days of ownership. Models are evaluated on a thorough survey examining 77 attributes and given a score of one to 1,000. The GMC Sierra HD earned the APEAL Study award for the Large Heavy Duty Pickup category.

“These and similar awards affirm that our customers recognize and appreciate the precision engineering, design and technology that go into every GMC,” said Duncan Aldred, US vice president for GMC. “Sierra HD trucks are engineered without compromise to deliver the capability, refinement and technology that inspire confidence with every task.”

The Sierra HD wasn’t the only standout vehicle in the study. The 2015 GMC Terrain earned runner up in the competitive class of compact SUVs.

Family-Friendly 2015 GMC Canyon Is Perfect for Everyone

When you think about the stereotypical family vehicle, you probably think about a minivan, SUV, or even just a regular sedan. But, did you know that the 2015 GMC Canyon is made for families?

Recently, Cars.com writer Carrie Kim was able to test drive the Canyon and was delightfully surprised by how family-friendly it really was. In her review, she wrote, “[the Canyon] offers all the luxuries and upgrades I’m usually looking for in a crossover, but still provides all of a pickup’s utility without any sacrifices. Its manageable size and all the bells and whistles could really appeal to many families—including my own.”

She noted there is plenty of room in the second row of the crew cab model to fit two forward-facing child seats. And, the Canyon uses a simple solution to make sure those seats fit in the way they should. Simply take out the headrest and slide it into the bottom seat cushion to make it a little longer to better accommodate your child’s seat.

Kim also said that for the first time, she and her husband started dreaming about all the fun trips they could take with the Canyon’s cargo and towing capabilities—up to 7,000 pounds when equipped with the towing package and V6 engine.

Come check out the family-friendly 2015 GMC Canyon today at DeVoe Buick GMC and we’ll show you how it can be the perfect vehicle for your family.

Ad Agency Leo Burnett to Develop GMC’s Next Ad Campaign

GMC's Next Ad Campaign

2015 GMC Sierra HD Pickup

General Motors has big plans for its truck brand. GMC’s truck lineup has a ton to offer, but seems to be all-too-often overlooked by shoppers. That’s about to change with GMC’s next ad campaign, which is sure to catch the attention of pickup truck-shoppers nation-wide. GMC has partnered with ad agency Leo Burnett on a “big umbrella campaign” that will showcase GMC as a premium, refined truck brand.

The upcoming campaign will also feature individual lines using the same theme to highlight each vehicle’s high-end features and capabilities. Duncan Aldred, US vice president in charge of GMC and Buick. has commissioned famed ad agency Leo Burnett in an effort to help GMC begin to attract non-GM buyers and boost their growth.

“We’ve got to evolve that into something that builds the brand itself,” Aldred said to Automotive News during a media test drive of the 2015 GMC Canyon midsize pickup. “The hard bit is breaking through and getting people to recognize it.”

GMC is already seeing impressive success this year, as the brand’s sales rose 10% through September, which is the strongest performance of GM’s four brands. Much of that can be attributed to GMC’s high-end sub-brand, Denali, which accounted for 20% of GMC’s total sales last year.

Adding brand-new, engaging, and bold advertising will surely only help GMC in its quest to turn heads and establish itself as a brand that offers refined, quality pickup trucks.
